William Loewenthal

William J. Loewenthal, 73 of Tampa, died Monday April 19, 2010. Preceded in death in January 2010 by his son Steven R. Loewenthal, he is survived by Martha, his beloved wife of 41 years; son and daughter-in-law William, Jr. and Linda Loewenthal of San Mateo, CA; daughter-and-son in law Drs. Barbara and David Podwall of Great Neck, NY; grandchildren William J. Loewenthal, III, Elizabeth Rose Loewenthal, Jacob Martin Podwall, and Abigail Maya Podwall; brother Richard J. Loewenthal, Jr., of Winnetka, IL; sister Louise Benjamin and husband Charles of Poughkeepsie, NY; and several nieces and nephews. Bill was a member of Congregation Schaarai Zedek, the O.W.L.S., and an active volunteer for over 6 years for the Florida Aquarium. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 20 at Segal Funeral Home, 3909 Henderson Boulevard, Tampa. Funeral Services will take place at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday April 21, 2010 at Temple Schaarai Zedek, 3303 West Swann Avenue, Tampa. Interment will be at Schaarai Zedek Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested to the Florida Aquarium, 701 Channelside Drive, Tampa, Florida 33602.
