Vincent Sorrentino, 86, passed away peacefully at his home in Tampa, FL on January 31, 2020. He is survived by his wife, Sylvia Sorrentino, and many loving family members, including a stepdaughter, Sara Cohen; stepson Mark Reisman; their spouses Dr. Martin Cohen and Dr. Barbara Reisman; four grandchildren, Daniel Cohen, Dr. Gillian Cohen, Leah Reisman, and Samuel Reisman and their spouses; four amazing great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Cecilia, Nathan, and Spencer; and several nieces and nephews. Vincent was a proud New Yorker and lived much of his life in Manhattan and Great Neck, NY, later relocating to Tampa, FL. An arts graduate of The Cooper Union, Vincent was a passionate contributor to the New York City art world. As a leader at Petersburg Press, Vincent collaborated with prominent American abstract expressionists such as Jasper Johns and Franz Kline, as well as photographer Berenice Abbott. Later, as an independent curator and art dealer, Vincent developed a robust collection of American and European prints, and made generous donations of artwork to several Tampa-area museums. Vincent was an engaged and generous teacher, mentor, stepfather and grandfather. Vincent was also a proud veteran of the Korean war. He will be remembered for his entrepreneurial spirit, loving attentiveness, and passion for his craft and his family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The LIFE Center of the Suncoast in Tampa or a charity of your choice. Services will be held at Segal Funeral Home, 3909 Henderson Blvd., Tampa FL 33629 on Saturday, February 8th at 2:30pm.
