Tynan Alexander McCarthy

Tynan Alexander McCarthy, age 40, of Tampa, Florida, died unexpectedly on Friday, March 7, 2025. He was born January 31, 1985, in San Francisco, California, to Danny and Toby (Hayes) McCarthy. Tynan married Kerrie Lewis on September 24, 2022. Tynan and Kerrie welcomed baby boy, Redford McCarthy, in July 2024.

Tynan graduated from Granada High School in Livermore, California. He later attended John Jacobs Golf School, in Arizona. He was employed by Streamsong Golf Resort for five years. Ty was elated when he met Kerrie. Their abundant love was clear for all who knew them. He was overjoyed when the couple welcomed Redford Daniel, and his smile didn’t leave his face for weeks. He loved spending time with Redford and particularly enjoyed getting Redford ready for bed.

Tynan was an excellent golfer and a great baseball player. He was a sought-after caddy and clients traveled from all over the world to golf with him. Tynan loved being outdoors and appreciated the beauty of nature. He was an avid collector of shark teeth and fossils on area golf courses and was an expert four-leaf-clover hunter. Tynan enjoyed both casual and deep-sea fishing and often went on fishing excursions with friends. He loved dogs and was secretly converted into a cat lover by Kerrie. He also regaled his friends with an excellent Macho Man Randy Savage impression.

Tynan is survived by his wife, Kerrie Lewis; their son, Redford Daniel; his parents, Danny and Toby; his sister Paris (Mark) Rutkowski, niece Clover Rutkowski, and brother Clark (Gabby) McCarthy; his best friend Tim (Alyssa) Nakae; and many loving family members and dear friends. Tynan was predeceased by his grandparents, Sid and Marjorie Hayes; and grandparents, Charles and Teresa McCarthy.
