Suzanne "Suzy" Lichtman (Hausmann), Loving and Loved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt and Friend

Suzy Lichtman passed away on July 8, 2012, at the age of 72. She was born in Strasbourg, France. Within moments of being born, Suzy was placed in a picnic basket and evacuated from the hospital just before it was bombed. She came to the United States when she was 3 years old and grew up in Miami Beach. At a young age, Suzy was a concert pianist, playing for audiences that included President Truman. When she was 18, while attending college at the University of Miami, Suzy met the love of her life, Barry Lichtman, by whom she is survived after 54 years of marriage. Suzy was a remarkably positive individual, whose spirit uplifted those around her. In addition to being a loving and loved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Suzy had been a real estate broker/agent, a certified personal trainer, and a devoted volunteer for a variety of causes and organizations. In her later years, she focused her volunteering efforts toward supporting cancer patients and survivors, volunteering at Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa and founding the Lung Cancer Support and Networking Group at Memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs. Suzy loved to exercise, knit and be with her family. In addition to Barry, Suzy is survived by her daughters Amy Heinrichs and Terri Goldstein (son-in-law Jeff), her son Peter, her grandchildren, Jessica, Jason and Julia, her brother Roland Hausmann and sister-in-law Helga, her brother-in-law Richard Lichtman and sister-in-law Elaine, her mother-in-law, Jean Lichtman, her niece and nephews, friends and her beloved "girls" Roxy and Pebbles. Suzy is now with many others whom she loved and by whom she was loved, including her very special grandson, Justin. A funeral service will be held for Suzy on Sunday, July 22, 2012, at 1:00 p.m., at Segal Funeral Home - Beth David Chapel, 3909 Henderson Boulevard, Tampa, Florida.
