Sheila Roher

Sheila Roher passed away peacefully, October 25, 2026 leaving behind a lifetime of love, laughter, and cherished memories. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 64 years, Richard “Dick” Roher and her brother, Kenneth Schulman.

Born in Augusta, Georgia on April 12, 1941, Sheila spent much of her life there before moving with her family to Tampa in 1985. A cheerleader during her school years at Richmond Academy, Sheila was outgoing, social, and had a love of writing. Sheila was deeply involved in the community, serving as president of the Augusta Jewish Federation, and honored as Hadassah woman of the year. Sheila was active in several other organizations before moving with her family to Tampa.

Sheila is survived by her adoring children, Alana (Troy), Mitch (Paula), Keith (Julie), and Jeff (Ann); her loving younger sister Harriet McCranie (Michael); her eight grandchildren, Amy (Tyler), Zach, Austin, Grant, Addy, Hank (Taylor), Sam, and Olivia; and her great-grandson, Miller.

Known affectionately as “Mimi” to her grandchildren, Sheila found her greatest joy in her family. An interior designer for much of her life, she loved fashion, decorating, cruises, and days at the beach. After moving to Tampa, Sheila worked for many years at Tile World of Italy, where her love of decorating brought her into the homes and lives of countless Tampa families. Among those she met was the family of Julie, who would later marry her son Keith.

Sharp, caring, and quick-witted, Sheila was known for her playful sarcasm. She leaves behind wonderful memories and a family who will forever cherish their Mimi.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Amy Gail Buchman Preschool at Congregation Schaarai Zedek in Sheila’s memory.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, October 29th at Congregation Schaarai Zedek, 3303 W. Swann Ave, Tampa FL 33609. Service will start at 2pm with Shiva to follow in the Buchman-Rachelson Social Hall.
