Severino Fuente

Severino(Sevie) La Fuente, of Tampa, passed away Tuesday November 17, 2009 at 90 years of age after a long, happy, and healthy life. He was preceded in death by his son Edward; parents Maria G. and Severino La Fuente Sr.; and sister Evangelina L. Solares. He is survived by his wife of 66 years Olympia (Petie); son Russell; Ray Eelsing who was like a son to him; nephews Henry M. Solares and Leslie Diaz; nieces Sandra Onis Mims and Irene Solares Thompson; many loving cousins in Tampa and Spain; as well as many close and very special friends. A native of Tampa, he graduated from Hillsborough High School and the University of Tampa. He was a veteran of WWII having served in the U. S. Army in Europe. In 1956 he and his family moved to Panama and the Panama Canal Zone where he lived and worked for 25 years. After retirement he returned home to Tampa. He was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of the Egypt Temple Shrine. At his request, he was cremated and no services will be held. Those who wish may make donations in his memory to their favorite charity.
