FISHMAN, Samuel Elliott, age 75, of Tampa, passed away on October 12, 2012. Survivors include his beloved wife, of 50 years, Elinor; daughter, Jennifer Fishman Berman of Chicago; daughter and son-in-law, Michelle & Rick Fisher of Plantation; son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey & Brandy Fishman, of Tampa; and five cherished grandchildren, Perry and Shay Fisher and Jacob, Noah & Abbi Fishman.
Sam was born in Brooklyn, NY, grew up in Coral Gables, and met and married Ellie in Tampa where he raised his family. Sam founded Fishman Mortgage Corporation in 1968 and was a committed supporter of a number of local and national charitable organizations, including Menorah Manor, Hadassah and the American Cancer Society. He was a past board member and long time congregant of Congregation Schaarai Zedek. Sam also served as a member of the Board of Realtors for over 30 years and was Treasurer of the Shore Condominium Association of Longboat Key. Sam was a passionate boater and recently served as treasurer of theSuncoast Grady White Boating Club of Long Boat Key.
Funeral services will be held Monday, October 15, 2012, 11:00am at Congregation Schaarai Zedek, 3303 W. Swann Ave, Tampa, interment will follow at Myrtle Hill Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society (Rock Camp) or Hadassah.
