Roseline Cutler

Cutler, Roseline A. "Ro", 94, of Tampa Florida, died at home on February 5, 2011. Born September 11, 1916 in Philadelphia to Aaron and Matilda Adams, Ro married Edward I. Cutler in 1938, and they lived in Philadelphia until 1944, when they moved to Tampa, where Ro became very active in the community as a member of the Tampa JayCee-ettes, the Davis Islands Garden Club, and Congregation Schaarai Zedek. She was also an avid tennis player at the Davis Islands Tennis Club, on the courts at least twice a week until she was well into her 80s. She also played party bridge with several groups. In her 40s, Ro pursued her first college education and graduated from the University of South Florida in 1964, as a member of its Charter Class. She remained involved in USF Alumni activities for many years. After graduation, Ro co-founded and operated a local sightseeing company, Tampa Package Tours. Ro loved to entertain at home and did so quite often, in a way that seemed effortless. Over the course of her life, Ro enjoyed unique travel adventures, to all continents, collecting artifacts wherever she went. She had an opinion on every subject, was strong and fearless, jumping into every activity with a zest and energy that lasted until the end of her life. Ro is survived by her three children and their spouses, Janet Kossman (Robert), of Denver, CO and Hilton Head, SC; Edward "Buddy" Cutler (Donna), of Tampa; Robin Cutler-Levine (Bob), of Pittsburgh, PA; six grandchildren, Adam Cutler (Caroline), of Wynnewood, PA; Sydney Cutler Abich (Nasar), of Los Angeles, CA; Samantha Kossman Tanenholtz (Bruce), of Denver, CO; Kip Kossman (Jill Hall), of Olympic Valley, CA; Marisa Levine, of Brookline, MA; Jeremy Levine, of Santa Cruz, CA; and four great-grandchildren, Molly and Noa Cutler, Spencer Tanenholtz, and Elliott Aaron Abich; two sisters, Dorothy Chatzkel and Mitzie Tucker (Marty); three brothers, Arlin Adams (Neysa), Jack Adams (Shirley), Ted Adams (Naomi); and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. The family thanks LifePath Hospice Burgundy Team for its assistance during Ro's final days. A memorial service to commemorate Ro's life will be held two weeks from this Sunday, February 27, 2011, 2:00 PM at Congregation Schaarai Zedek, 3303 W. Swann Avenue, Tampa, FL. Donations in Ro's memory may be made to USF Lunch With a Scholar Program, made payable to the USF Foundation, Inc., Fund #420062, and directed to Laura Bolduc, Office of Donor Relations, 4202 E. Fowler Ave., ALC 100, Tampa, FL 33620-5455., to American Heart Association, or to the charity of one's choice.
