age 89, of Tampa passed away Wednesday, September 26, 2012, peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Rippa was born in Albany, NY and was a lifelong resident of Tampa. He served in the Merchant Marines during WWII and graduated from the University of Florida. He was the founder and owner of Colony Shops of Florida, women's apparel stores which he ran successfully for 34 years, was a member of Congregation Schaarai Zedek a 32nd degree Mason and Shriner. He was a man of honor and integrity who was loved by all who knew him. His presence left an indelible mark with all who crossed his path. Survivors include his beloved wife with whom he recently celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary, daughter and son-in-law, Babs & Doug Preiser of Tampa, sons and daughter-in-law, Mark & Elsa Rippa of Baton Rouge, LA and Gary Rippa of Tampa, grandchilA�dren, Matthew (Kristine) Preiser and Aaron Preiser , great granddaughter, Aaliyah and sister, Dorothy Rosenbloom of St. Louis, MO. A loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend and a man of service to all, he will be greatly missed. Graveside services will be held today (Friday), 2:00 PM at Myrtle Hill Memorial Park, Tampa.
