Richard "Rick" Jenkins

JENKINS, Richard "Rick" Arthur, 68, of Lutz, passed away on July 24, 2021. Rick was born on December 14, 1952, in San Diego, California, to parent’s Morris & Rhoda Jenkins. He moved to Florida and attended The University of South Florida where he achieved his BA in Accounting in 1975.  Rick was the VP of Hallmark Mortgage for 15+ years, with his most recent career being a Mortgage Loan Officer for Central Bank. Rick also worked as an Umpire in Florida & Georgia for over 30 years and was a member of the FHSSA, NSA, ASA, and USSSA (all umpire organizations). His love of girls’ softball was remarkable. He not only umpired, but also coached the girls in ways of life, and helped with their skills. He kept in touch with the girls and their parents after the girls left for college, and always talked about and bragged about them and their accomplishments. He also coached little league at Lutz Little League for 8 years. Rick was an avid baseball card and memorabilia collector. He loved collecting NY Yankee memorabilia, even though he loved following The Rays. He was also an avid Tarheels basketball fan. Rick was predeceased by his parents, Morris & Rhoda Jenkins and his sister, Renee Jekins. Rick is survived by his wife of 33 years, Cheryl Jenkins, his two children daughter Jessica Grady (Josh), and son Jason Lopez (Jessyca), and his 5 grandchildren; his siblings, Glen Jenkins (Esther) Stephen Jenkins (Jacquie), Annette Spivey (David). Best friends, Lou Crispiano and Wayne Granda, who checked on Rick every day. Services for Rick will be held Friday, 7/30, 10:00 AM at Gan Shalom Cemetery in Lutz (3527 E.
