Peter Joseph Cimino, 72, Tampa, passed from this life to his eternal reward on August 7, 2015. Much beloved husband, father, and uncle, "Pete" peacefully left this world surrounded by his loving family. Pete married his sweetheart Alicia Withers in 1967 and they enjoyed 48 years together. They raised their daughters Kim and Lisa (Christopher Reaves) in a loving and peaceful home. His girls were his pride and joy. Pete loved to spend time with his immediate family and doted on his nieces and nephews. He had a fascination with mountains, nature, stars, and fishing. He was a wise and humorous man who could often be found with a crossword puzzle in his hands. Pete retired from GTE after 32 years. He served honorably as an MP in the United States Army Reserve. Serving as a Master Mason at John Darling Lodge #154 F.&A.M. was dear to Pete's heart. He was a member for 39 years and served as Past Master of John Darling and as Past District Deputy Grand Master. His Lodge Brothers were a great source of support and friendship to him over many years. He held them in high esteem. Pete also leaves behind his "favorite" sister Josie Clark whom he loved dearly, his brother-in-law Jim (Diane) Withers, and many nieces and nephews. The family expresses heartfelt appreciation to the doctors, nursing staff, medical assistants and volunteers at Moffitt Cancer Center for their wonderful care and thoughtfulness. Services will be held Saturday, August 15, 2015 at 1 PM at John Darling Lodge, 4601 N Habana Ave, Tampa, FL 33614. Contributions in memory of Pete may be made to Moffitt Cancer Center.
