Paulyne Fleischman

FLEISCHMAN, Paulyne Leibovitz, age 98, passed away peacefully, Sunday, January 6th, 2013. Born in Ybor City on July 27th, 1914,above the family's business, the Sunshine Department Store, She worked with her father,mother,and brothers at the Sunshine until 1955, when she opened one of the first children's clothing stores in Tampa, Paulyne Fleischman's Kiddie Shoppe on South Dale Mabry. Even though she was a dedicated business woman, she, also, was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. In her later years, Paulyne loved cruising, mahjong, and doing volunteer work at Rodoph Sholom synagogue. She was predeceased by her parents, Manuel and Mildred Leibovitz, sister, Miriam Hirsch, and brothers Lester and Walter Leib. She is survived by her sons Sol Fleischman, Jr. (Sandra) and Marty Fleischman (Sue); grandchildren Toby Fleischman, Shawna Berger (Brett), and Jason Fleischman; great grandson, Blake Berger, and many nieces and nephews. The family is especially grateful to Estelle Lopez and the staff at Abigail House for their care and kindness in her final days.Graveside services will be held Wednesday, 2:00pm at Rodeph Sholom Cemetery,3612 Ola Avenue. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Congregation Rodeph Sholom or the charity of ones choice.
