POLANCO, Nicholas "Nick", age 98 of Miami died Thursday, January 24, 2013 in Tampa. Mr. Polanco was born in Puerto Rico and came to Tampa recently from Miami where he resided for over 70 years. Nick and his late wife, Betty were visionary entrepreneurs of the importing of Latin food products. They owned N. Polanco, Inc., an importer of Spanish foods and wines. They retired in the mid 70's when they sold their business to Goya Foods. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Betty, with whom he was married for 65 years. Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law, Bobby & Laurie Polanco of Raleigh, NC and Eddy & Blanca Polanco of Miami, daughter and son-in-law, Susan & Albert Waksman of Tampa and grandchildren, Nick, Amber and Vinny, two brothers Charlie & Julio and his wife Rita his sister-in-law and her husband, Sara & Harvey Stahl and numerous nieces and nephews. Private services will be held. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Lifepath Hospice, 12973 N. Telecom Pkwy, Suite 100, Temple Terrace, FL. 33637.
