Naomi Wexler Chardkoff passed away in Tampa on Sunday December 27, 2009. Born and raised in Chicago, she went to work out of high school to help support her family during the Great Depression. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of over 50 years, Dr. M. A. Chardkoff with whom she moved to Tampa in the late 1940's. She was an active member of Congregation Rodeph Sholom's sisterhood, Hadassah, and served for many years as its social secretary. She was known for her thoughtfulness and selflessness, for the many cards and notes that she sent to those who were ill or suffering. She was a devoted and accomplished wife, mother, and grandmother who was always there for her family with her indomitable spirit and optimism. She will be sadly missed. She is survived by a daughter Lynne Dyckman of Atlanta, GA and a son Dr. Richard Chardkoff of Monroe, LA and his wife Joan. She is also survived by her grandchildren Deena Shapiro of Nashville, TN, Dr. Leslie Scarlett and her husband Dr. Matthew Scarlett of Charleston, SC, Kimberly Dinnerman and her husband Michael of Atlanta, and Lauren Dyckman of Atlanta, and four great grandchildren Ainsley and Lowden Scarlett and Max and Charlie Dinnerman. Memorials may be made in her memory to the charity or organization of the donor's choice. Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday December 30 at Rodeph Sholom Cemetery.
