Milton Alper, 90, of Tampa, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family Thursday February 19, 2009. A native of Chicago, Illinois, he moved to this area in 1979 from Des Moines, Iowa. Preceded in death by Elaine Alper, his wife of 33 years, he is survived by daughters Bonnie Busch and her husband Gregg of Tampa and Cindy Caspe of Land O'Lakes, and 5 grandchildren. Mr. Alper volunteered for many civic organizations including the Visitors Center at Channelside, Tampa Convention Center, and Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center. He was a Veteran of the Army Air Corps, having served during WWII. Funeral services will take place at 11:00 a.m. Monday at the Segal Funeral Home, 3909 Henderson Boulevard, Tampa with interment to follow at Beth Israel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions be made to Johnnie B. Byrd, Sr. Alzheimer's Center & Research Institute, 4001 East Fletcher Avenue, Tampa, FL 33613.
