Melinda Hirsch

Melinda Sue Hirsch, born February 14, 1959 in Tampa, Fl passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 15, 2012 at the Chilldon Group Home where she resided for many years. She was the beloved daughter of her deceased parents, Jack and Miriam L. Hirsch. She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law Paula and Nathan Davis; her brother and sister-in-law Richard A. and Lyn Hirsch; her nieces and nephews, Dana Cohen and her husband Jonathan Cohen, their children Chloe and Henry Cohen, and Cortney Hirsch Webel and her husband Steven Webel; her aunts Paulyne Fleischman, Harriet Leib, Lorraine Leib and many cousin and relatives who loved her.

Melinda's family wants to express their sincere appreciation to the Hillsborough Achievement and Resource Center (HARC) and to the especially kind and loving caregivers who enriched Melinda's life so much throughout the years. Special love and thanks to Annie Gaston who has been in Melinda's life since she came to live at Chilldon, Minnie Wiggins who has cared for Melinda in the last months with such devotion, the wonderful staff at Melinda's day program, who truly loved and cared for her, Melinda's physician, Dr. Cheryl Reed, who has been her primary physician and a great help to the family, Dr. Charles Walker for his support and guidance in Melinda's care and Lifepath Hospice. You all are special people and Melinda loved you.

While Melinda was disabled from birth, she faced her condition with a smile on her face that could light up the room. She taught her family a valuable lesson in caring and compassion for the less fortunate. Melinda will always be in our hearts, keeping her memory alive. Burial services will be held privately.
