WEISSMAN, Marilyn, age 83 of Tampa died Friday, December 13, 2013. Mrs. Weissman came to Tampa from her native, Bayonne, New Jersey . She was a lifelong resident of the Tampa Bay area having lived in Tampa and for over 20 years in Clearwater. In the late 60's she was part owner of a lingerie shop, The Loungerie but mostly dedicated her time and energy to volunteering. She was active in many organizations including Hadassah where she was a life member and past Regional President and National Vice President, Past President of the Menorah Manor Foundation and was recipient of the prestigious, Generation Award given by the State of Israel Bonds on the 30th Anniversary in 1979. She was a member of Congregation Rodeph Sholom, Rodeph Sholom Sisterhood and an associate member of Congregation Schaarai Zedek. Preceded in death by her beloved husband of 50 years, Irving Weissman, she is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sandy & Errol Pegler, sons and daughters-in-law, Charles & Aida Weissman and Jack & Ellen Weissman, sister, Sara Horvitz, seven cherished grandchildren and their spouses, Robyn Marcus (Andy), Jeff Pegler (Jenifer), Richard Weissman, Stuart Weissman (Ashley), Karie Weissman, Scott Weissman and David Weissman and six great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Monday, 11:00 AM at Congregation Rodeph Sholom, 2713 Bayshore Boulevard, Tampa. Interment will follow at Myrtle Hill Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Congregation Rodeph Sholom or Menorah Manor.
