SIMON, Marilyn, passed away on January 9th, 2011, at the age of 91. A New York native, she lived in Miami with her husband Stevan for more than 60 years. Together they established General Hotel & Restaurant Supply in Miami in 1955. They were founding members of Temple Zion, and long time members of Beth David Congregation, where she was an active member of the synagogue and President of the Sisterhood. Marilyn was also a member of the Jewish War Veterans, Amit Women, Hadassah and Sisterhood. She also belonged to the Greater Miami Jewish Federation and was a very proud member of the Lion of Judah society. Marilyn was on the board of Alexander Muss High School in Israel and Israel Bonds. She is survived by her three children, Walter (Glenda), Jeffrey (Carol) and Diane Silvester. She had eight beloved grandchildren, Debby (Len), Lee (Jennifer), Andrew, Karen (Michael), Daniel (Ivelisse), Jonathan (Felisa), Laura, and David, and nine great grandchildren (Ryan, Aaron, Dayna, Jordan, Cameron, Sophia, Sage, Max and Mia, who will all miss her. Funeral services will be held today, (Tuesday) 1:00 PM at the Beth David Congregation, 2625 SW 3rd Avenue, Miami. Interment will follow at Mt. Sinai Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Alexander Muss High School in Israel or Beth David Women's League.
