Marie Flood, 87, passed away peacefully on July 18th with her family by her side. Marie was born in St. Louis, Missouri where she lived the early part of her life before moving to Tampa, Florida with her family in 1967. A wife and mother to four children, Marie was devoted to her family and community. Throughout her children’s school years, she volunteered for the Red Cross serving as school nurse at Dale Mabry Elementary and Christ the King Catholic School. She continued her community service volunteering with numerous service organizations and supporting community functions. Marie was a life member of the Daughters of the Nile, Elim Temple No. 76, where she served for over 30 years as the Chair of their Sewing Committee, making specialty gowns and accessories for the Pediatric Burn Unit of the Shriners Hospitals for Children. In her later years she moved into the Masonic Home in St. Petersburg where she served as the Chair of the Sunshine Committee. She was preceded in death by her husband Philip “Gene” Flood, Sr. and survived by her son and daughter-in-law Philip Flood, Jr. and Gaye; daughter and son-in-law Susan Csida and Scott; sons Gregory and Jeffery Flood; five grandchildren: and four great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Kathy Tucker and brothers Marvin, Michael and Alan Moder. In keeping with her wishes, there will be a private ceremony with immediate family.
