Luis Mendoza

Luis Atilio Mendoza, Sr. was born on November 7, 1926 in Monteria, Colombia. Luis passed on Tuesday, February 2, 2010 at Melech Hospice House in Tampa surrounded by family and friends. A Memorial Service for Luis will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 5, 2010, at Segal Funeral Home, 3909 Henderson Blvd, Tampa. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Amparo Artica Mendoza; son, Luis Atilio Mendoza, Jr. and wife Cynthia Mendoza; son Carlos Eduardo Mendoza and wife April Smith Mendoza, MD; daughter, Cynthia Land and husband Larry Lee Land, MD, PhD; and seven grandchildren, Cristina, Zachary, Ashley, Jackson, Madeleine, Maxwell and Julian. Luis leaves a lasting legacy of laughter, warmth, curiosity, generosity, courage, and service to all. He will be missed.
