Murphy, Lucille Trice Drew (92) passed away on January 25th, 2017. Born to the late Roger A. and Anne V. Trice Drew on August 7, 1924 in Tampa.
She is survived by sons N. William Chase (Cindy) of Bozeman, MT and Michael P. Murphy of Tampa; grandchildren Bourne Chase and Sabrina Eyges (Ryan) and great grandson, Chase Eyges; sister Betsy D. Frater of Tampa nieces and nephews: Anne, Walter, Martha, Melissa, Mark, Roger, their spouses and children. She was predeceased by her sister, Jeannette D. Smalling and her niece, Amanda A. Frater.
A lifelong resident of Tampa, Lucille attended Roosevelt, Wilson and H. B. plant H.S. and the University of Tampa. She lived several years in Gainesville, attending the University of Florida while working at UF's Board of Examiners. Back in Tampa, she was employed by Tampa General Hospital for thirty-five years, retiring as Director of House Staff Services. A longtime member of Bayshore Baptist Church, she was also a member of Tampa Women's Club and a volunteer at Judeo Christian Coalition Clinic. In her later years, Lucille resided at Canterbury Towers.
On Monday, her birthday, August 7, 2017, family and friends will gather at 11:00 AM for the placement of her cremains at Myrtle Hill Memorial Park.There will be a reception that evening from 5 to 7:00 pm at the Michael Murphy Gallery, 2701 South MacDill Avenue, Tampa.
