Lorna Michaelson

MICHAELSON, Lorna Helaine, age 75 of Tampa died Monday, January 26, 2015. Mrs. Michaelson came to Tampa in 1980 from her native, New York. She was a dedicated member of Congregation Kol Ami having served on the congregation board of directors, ritual committee and sisterhood and was a life member of Hadassah. Lorna was a Hebrew educator and in addition to teaching Sunday school, she was a tutor of B'nai Mitzvah students. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 29 years, Stanley. Survivors include her daughter, Maia Michaelson of New York, NY, son, Jay Michaelson and his partner, Paul Dakin of Putnam Valley, NY, cherished grandson, Henry Michaelson and step-daughter, Nancy Michaelson of Baltimore, MD. Funeral services and interment were held in West Babylon, New York. Shiva will be observed, Thursday, Jan. 29 thru Sunday, (excluding Shabbat) at the residence of Maia Michaelson, 35 East 10th Street #8H, NY, NY. Shiva will be held in Tampa on Monday and Tuesday evenings,( Feb. 2nd and 3rd) 7:30 PM at Congregation Kol Ami, 3919 Moran Road. Tampa. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Congregation Kol Ami or the charity of ones choice.
