Lemar Louis Joichin, Jr., born January 28, 1944, transitioned on Saturday, March 9, 2024 in Tampa Florida. Lemar was the eldest child of the late Lemar Louis Joichin, Sr. and Selina Gray Joichin. He was the eldest grandchild of the late Victoria Edwards Gray (Gramzie), James Gray, Alcibides Joichin and Emma Marcelle Joichin. Lemar is survived by his wife, Deborah Joichin, his children Lemar Louis Joichin III, Lisa Marie LaCabe, Joy Selina Soublet, and Selina Helen Joichin-Richter; his grandchildren, Micah, Kelly, Joey, Ashley, Seth, and Cheyenne; his son-in-law Shawn Richter; his three younger siblings, Lambert Aaron Joichin, Lauren Lyn Joichin, and Lorna Joichin Spence; his aunt Joanna Gray Hughes, and a host of loving nieces, nephews, and cousins. Lemar was preceded in death by his aunt Verlie Gray Major and his late uncles Isaac R. Gillard, Victor Joichin, and Leonidas Joichin. He was a graduate of New Orleans’ George Washington Carver Senior High School. Lemar lived in New Orleans during his first 25 years, followed by a two-year stint in Vietnam. He was then a successful art gallery owner in Washington, D.C. for 28 years, and finally with his family, retired to Tampa, Florida for his final 25 years. He will be missed by his entire family and a host of golf buddies. A small private family memorial will take place on a yet-to-be-determined date.
