WITTCOFF, Kenneth (Ken) age 52, lifelong resident of Tampa died Thursday, September 24, 2009 at home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Tampa, Florida to Richard and, the late, Roslyn Wittcoff. Maternal Grandparents: Israel and Teresa Kessler. Paternal Grandparents: Harold and Ivy Wittcoff. Survived by his loving wife of twenty-five years, Jessica, and two sons: Devin and Joshua Wittcoff. Sister, Dr. Marjorie Wittcoff Miller, nephews Scott and Mark Miller, in-laws Morris and Gilda Hecht, sister-in-law and brothers-in-law, Leslie and Mark Kallus and their children Arielle, Sam, Stephan and Richard and Tom Miller. Uncle Walter Kessler, Aunt and Uncle Linda and Joseph Hanrahan Cousins Dr. Robert and Robin Kessler, Lawrence and Betsy Kessler, Susan Kessler, Nicole and Darin Firestone, and Steven and Susan Haubenstock. Extended family members Ryan Gloger, Melisa and Hal Weitzenfeld, and of course, Dugout!. Mr. Wittcoff received a Associate of Arts degree from the University of Florida, and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of South Florida. He is a 1976 graduate of Berkeley Preparatory School and also attended Trinity Prep in Orlando, Florida. He was active in the community and served as University of South Florida Alumni President, and he was a member of the USF Athletic Association Board of Directors, USF Alumni Association Life Member, the West Florida Livery Association Secretary/Treasurer from 2006 - 2009, a member of the Krewe of Hillsborough, and a life-long member of congregation Schaarai Zedek He was an avid supporter of youth and high school baseball and proud of the many national championships his teams earned. He relished watching and hearing about the players whom went on to play in college and at the professional level. He also was an active member of the West Coast Umpire Association. After working at the New York Yankees in the early 1980's, he went on to work for Pat Hill and Associates, The Governor's Council for Physical Fitness, and developed his own businesses: Promotions, Wittcoff Outdoor Advertising, and Allure Limousine. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, 10:00 AM at Temple Schaarai Zedek, 3303 W. Swann Avenue, Tampa. Rabbi Richard Birnholz will officiate. Interment will follow at Myrtle Hill Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Devin Wittcoff, Joshua Wittcoff, Steven Haubenstock, Ryan Gloger, Dr. Robert Kessler and Karl Siegfried. Honorary pallbearers will be Tom Scallon, John Crumbley, Rob La Rosa and Ron Diaz. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Ken's name to the University of South Florida's general scholarship fund, Animal Friends Society, Moffit Cancer Center, or Lifepath Hospice.
