Holiday, FL
Karen Lee Rose, born on March 16, 1942, in Melrose Park, Illinois, was a beacon of creativity, humor, and reliability. She was a woman who believed in the beauty of life's moments, no matter how big or small. Karen had a zest for life that was infectious. Her spirit was sprinkled with an exquisite blend of wit and wisdom, which she extended to everyone around her. She was known for her thoughtfulness, embodying the quote, "We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give."
Karen moved from Chicago to make Holiday, Florida, her home for the last five years of her life. She was a proud and accomplished Office Manager and Real Estate Agent, having earned her Illinois Real Estate License. With a unique and inspiring personality, Karen managed to weave her creativity into her professional life. Outside of work, she was an ardent lover of modeling, singing, and baking. She was not just an individual, but a captivating story in herself. She lived by the clock of her heart, often arriving fashionably late to events, but making sure she never missed them. She made it to all the events, and that was what mattered most to her.
Karen was the beloved mother of Mark Malek (left this world too soon), Eric Malek, Dani Rose, and David Rose, a cherished sister of Janet Denney and late sister Linda and Cynthia and her ten beloved grandchildren: Joshua, Zachary, Rachel, Alyssa, Haley, Shayna, Cire, Jack, Tzipora, and Adam. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jacque Barth and Elizabeth Barth. Karen was a woman of substance, a lady of laughter, and a soul of love. Her presence was a gift to those who had the pleasure of knowing her.
The graveside service for Karen will be held on Thursday, July 16, 2026, at 3:00pm EDT, at the Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park, 2860 Sunset Point Road, Clearwater, Florida, 33759. As we bid farewell to this extraordinary woman, let us all celebrate and honor her vibrant life.
