John Griffin

GRIFFIN, John S., age 78 of Tampa died Sunday, January 3, 2009. Mr. Griffin was born in Mt. Vernon, KY and came to Tampa in 1971 from Cincinnati, OH. He was a member and served on the board of the former Beth Israel Congregation, a member of Congregation Rodeph Sholom, was co-chairman of the American Red Cross Volunteers at Memorial Hospital and was an active participant of the Chesed Shel Emes during a time in their history which was vital for the continuance of the organization and was a 40 year Mason. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Robin Griffin. Survivors include his beloved wife of 52 years, Barbara, sons and daughter-in-law, Jeff & Beverly Griffin and Greg Griffin, grandchildren, Becky & Scott, sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Alan & Kathy Ehrlich and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, 12 noon at Beth Israel Cemetery with Rabbi Marc Sack and Cantor Moshe Friedler officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Congregation Rodeph Sholom or the charity of ones choice.
