Joan Thau

Joan Renee Thau, age 84, passed away peacefully on May 13, 2016 at Lifepath Hospice. Author, teacher, artist, musician, and decorator. She was married for 60 years to the love of her life - Herbert B. Thau. Wife, Mother, Grandmother - Her four children, Jonathan, Jeremy, Deirdre and Sean - were devoted to her as were her five grandchildren. She was adored as an Aunt, Cousin, Friend and Neighbor. Born in New York City - to Frank and Evelyn Blume, and loved by her two siblings - Peter Blume and Bonnie Goldsant. She graduated from High School of Music and Art, and then received a Bachelor Degree from Brooklyn College and a Masters from Hofstra University. Joan further pursued her talents at the Arts Student League. She loved and raised cats. Funeral Services are being held on May 16, 2016 at Segal Funeral Home in Tampa, and burial immediately thereafter at Hillsboro Memorial Park, in Brandon, Florida. Contributions in her memory may be made to Lifepath Hospice Center or any pet shelter.
