Jean Lasday

LASDAY, Jean F., 83, passed away on August 11, 2016, lovingly holding hands with her husband and children. She was born on August 1, 1933, in New Castle, PA, to the late Ralph and Belle (Solomon) Friedman. Jean attended Endicott Jr. College near Boston and graduated from the University of Miami. After college, Jean joined her family's successful regional retail business covering 10 states. Through her relentless dedication to leading volunteer and non-profit causes, Jean was honored with the prestigious distinction of First Lady of New Castle. By the mid 1980's, Jean and Ron added to their close network of friends and business relationships by moving to Tampa. Jean is survived by her husband Ron of 60 years, son, Fred, daughter, Shari and husband Larry, along with their daughter, Becky and her three children. Extended family members include her brother, Marvin, and brother-in-law, Louis, cousin, Alan, two nieces and two nephews. A graveside service will be held at 11 AM on Sunday, August 14, 2016 at Myrtle Hill Memorial Park located on the north side of East M.L.King between 40th and 50th streets in Tampa. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to N.O.T.E. (National Organization of Transplant Enlightenment) or the charity of your choice.
