Jane "Janie" Diane Barron, age 68, passed away on August 20, 2026. Born January 24, 1958, and raised in Tampa, Fl Janie attended Hillsborough High School.
Over the years she worked as a mechanic for Sears, insurance for Aetna, and worked as a CNA. Janie was also full of surprises when it came to talent. She twirled a baton, clogged with the Red Barron Cloggers, and played the violin — proof that this woman really could do it all, usually better than she let on.
She was a loving mother to her daughter Casey and cherished every moment of being Gramma Nonnie to Scarlett Jane, with her son-in-law Chris and step-grandchildren Caleb and Anabelle. She was preceded in death by her mom, Mary Jane Barron and dad , John Barron Jr, and beloved brother-n-law Barry Kleinbaum.
Janie is survived by her 8 brothers and sisters - Jeri (Pete), Danny (Florelle), Jodie, David (Michelle), Joe (Amanda), Jesse (Gerry Lynn), Julie (Tony), Jennifer (Jay) along with fifteen nieces, nephews, and their spouses Jessica, Ryan (Heather) , China(Jason), Bianca, Maddie, Maggie(Alejandro), Hollyann, Cody(Kaitlynn), Josh, Salem, Gabbie, Nick(Rose), Eleanor, Charlotte, Phillip, plus great-nieces and nephews Austin, Riley, Hailey, Raegan, Emersyn.
Family gatherings were always filled with laughter and a little chaos, and we could always count on Janie’s commentary to give us something to laugh about later which made those moments even more memorable.
Janie had, by her own estimation, nine lives and a green thumb. She loved pinching off little pieces of plants everywhere she went bringing them home to see if they would take root. She loved her Fiesta Hibiscus and Kitty Whisker plants.
She was always looking for a way to help people and animals, especially cats. If someone voiced a need, she was always the first to try to help. Over the years, she had many beloved cats of her own and fostered countless kittens in need, sometimes staying up all night to bottle-feed them and give them the care they needed. Her heart had a special place for those who needed a little extra love. Many of her beloved cats have already crossed the Rainbow Bridge and they’ll be waiting for her, ready to greet her with familiar purrs and hoping she brought them some treats.
Janie will be deeply missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
Rest easy Janie and “Lord Please Buy Her That Mercedes Benz!“
