Irving Medgebow

Irving Medgebow, age 87, of Coconut Creek, formerly of Tampa, died April 18, 2011. Mr. Medgebow proudly served in the U.S. Army during WWII and was highly decorated. He went on to work as an Aeronautical Engineer for Kellet Aircraft before becoming President of Jackson Products, a subsidiary of Alco Standard Corporation. Mr. Medgebow then started his own government contracting business, IMBA. He was a member of Congregation Schaarai Zedek and a Mason. Two sons Joel R. Medgebow and Barry B. Medgebow and his brother-in-law Nathan Schwartz preceded Mr. Medgebow in death. Survivors include his beloved wife of 67 years, Terry Medgebow; son and daughter-in-law Allen and Margaret Medgebow, of Tampa; daughter and son-in-law Cindy and Steve Dervech, of Tampa; sister Doris Schwartz, of Philadelphia, PA; grandchildren Jennifer Myers (Terry), Robyn Medgebow, Joel Medgebow, Jeffrey Dervech and Michael Dervech; great granddaughter Leah Myers. A private burial will be held. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions should be made to the Jewish National Fund.
