Herbert Sobel

Herbert “Herb” Sobel, passed on October 11, 2021, at age 86.  He was born and raised in Chicago to parents Rose and Abraham.  It was there that he met his loving wife, Judith, “Judy” Markowitz.  Not only did he serve proudly as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Navy, he earned his Masters degree and became a successful stock broker. Above all, he was a devoted Husband, Father, and Grandfather.  With the motto “family first” always at the front of his mind, he raised four children: Phil, Craig, Todd, and Cindy; then in turn his nine grandchildren.  He shared with them his fervor for politics, passion for history, and love for animals, including the occasional stray that was “Lucky” to come across him.  In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to H Lee Moffitt Cancer Center
