KLEIN, Helen Peggy Weissman, age 81, lifelong resident of Tampa, died Sunday, August 9, 2015. Mrs. Klein was a graduate of Plant High School and attended the University of Florida and remained an avid Gator fan throughout her life. Her professional calling was fulfilled when she joined her famiy's Ybor City based business, Martin's Uniforms (later a division of Superior Uniform Group). She began her career at a time when female business role models were few, and in her executive capacity she served as a mentor, colleague and friend to many for 50 years. She was a long-time member of Congregation Rodeph Sholom. Along with her husband she enjoyed many memorable travel adventures but to Peggy, family and friends were her top priority. She was a voracious reader, ace crossword puzzler, a gifted cook and had a strong passion for glass art. Preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Sylvia Weissman, brothers, Irving and Howard Weissman, sister-in-law, Marilyn Weissman and many dear friends. Survivors include her beloved husband of 59 years, Jim, sons, Mark of St. Petersburg and Steve of Nashville, TN, "daughters by marriage", Caryn and Glynis, cherished grandchildren, Nicole, Andrew and Olivia, great grandson, Ethan, beloved niece and nephews, Sandra Pegler, Ron, Bruce and Charles Weissman and their families as well as her dearly loved cousin and her husband, Evelyn and Leonard Sacks. Graveside services will be held Tuesday,11:00 AM at Myrtle Hill Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Lifepath hospice.
