Hector Diaz

DIAZ, Hector Joseph, "Joe", 82, of Tampa died peacefully early Thursday morning. A lifelong resident of Tampa, he was born December 21, 1930, to Manuel and Corina Diaz. He graduated from Hillsborough High School, and thereafter attended the Georgia Institute of Technology, earning his degree in civil engineering. After college, Joe entered the Army and was stationed in Mineral Wells, Texas, where he met and married his wife Ingeborg. After leaving military service with the rank of 1st Lieutenant, Joe moved back home to Tampa where he raised his family and operated his own engineering business, DSA Engineering, until his retirement. Joe is survived by his devoted wife of 57 years, Ingeborg Maria Diaz, and their three daughters, Catherine (Randy) Toth of Tampa, Felicia (John) Gillette of Norton, Massachusetts, and Caroline (David) Field of San Diego, California. He is also survived by his four grandchildren, Michael Spicola, Rachel Toth, Amanda Gillette, and Matthew Gillette, as well as his brother Ernest Diaz of Daytona Beach, and other loving family members.
