Harriet Green

Beloved wife of the late Fredric A. Green, Lt. Col., USMC. Predeceased by daughter Judith and son Leslie.

Survived by children: Teddy and Jim Rodenfels (Fort Myers, FL); Melanie and Ted Mouras (Hereford, AZ); Steven and Christa Green (Columbus, OH); grandchildren: Anthony and Tina Green; David and Janelle Rodenfels; Benjamin Rodenfels; Christopher and Christine Green; and several great grandchildren.

Harriet was born in Canton, OH. As the wife of a career military officer, she lived in many locations in the U.S. They settled in Columbus, OH, following Fred's retirement. She spent her final year in Fort Myers, FL.

She loved history and travel, but her passions were music and the piano. A talented pianist, she taught lessons and performed in every community in which she lived.

Harriet was a member of the Friday Morning Music Club in Washington, D.C.; The National Music Teachers Association; The Ohio Music Teachers Association; The Columbus Music Teachers Association; The Saturday Music Club; Women in Music Columbus; and the Sigma Alpha Iota music sorority.

Harriet was National Certification Chair for MTNA for many years, and was instrumental in the development and growth of CMTA. She served as President of both CMTA and Women in Music, Columbus. Harriet was a member of Congregation Tifereth Israel, where she was actively involved in the synagogue's music scholarship program, the Justine Hackman Music Competition. Her warmth and volunteer spirit will be greatly missed by her friends and fellow musicians. Her family just misses her.

She will be buried next to Fred in Arlington National Cemetery.
