Greta Goldzer Ziedenweber, born to Bella (d. 1984) and Saul Goldzer (d. 1943), passed away at the age of 93, leaving behind a legacy of love, dedication, and service.
Greta's career spanned many years and many accomplishments. A compassionate and dedicated registered nurse (RN) in her first career, she traveled extensively throughout Europe, including a notable time working at London Hospital. Greta also served as the Operating Room Supervisor at Mt. Sinai Hospital in Manhattan, where her leadership and expertise were deeply respected. In her second career, Greta became the Vice President of her Husband's company, Weber Audio Visual, where she worked alongside him for many years. She continued this role until his Parkinson’s disease made it difficult for him to work.
Throughout her life, Greta was known for her boundless love of family, passion for travel, and her creative spirit. She loved knitting and found joy in helping others. In the later years of her life, Greta served as a travel nurse, offering her care and support to her husband in his final years.
Greta will be remembered as a woman of grace, strength, and endless generosity. Her memory will live on through her family, friends, and all who were touched by her compassion and kindness.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Michael Ziedenweber, with whom she shared 43 years of marriage. Michael passed away on October 13, 2003. Greta was also preceded in death by her stepson, Gary Ziedenweber (d. 2015), step-grandchildren: Diane Frost (d. 2022), Doris Ziedenweber (d. 2013), and Blake Bielan and Samanta Bielan (who tragically passed away in 1995), two sisters, Vicky Garfinkel (Bernie, d. 2010), who passed away at the age of 92 in Albany, NY in 2013, and Lily (d. 2016) of New Hampshire. She was also predeceased by her brother and sister-in-law, Phillip and Linda Ziedenweber, and brother and sister-in-law Bill and Rose Litt (Ziedenweber).
Greta is survived by her cherished daughter, Sara Ziedenweber, and her stepdaughter, Sheri Montrose (Greg), step-grandchildren Megan Jones and Adam Ziedenweber, step-great-children Myles and Aiden Jones. She also leaves behind a host of beloved family members, including Sandy and Bob Gittleson, Miles and Evelyn Garfinkel, Ken and Randi Zieden-Weber, Bill and Pam Zieden-Weber, Stephanie (Zieden-Weber) and Kyle Haas, Jeffery Litt, Robert and Veronica Litt, and Lawrence Litt.
Graveside service will take place at Beth David Cemetery in Elmont, New York.
