Gerard Lachs

LACHS, Dr. Gerard, age 76, of Temple Terrace, died February 1, 2011. Dr. Lachs was born in Essen, Germany and moved to Florida over 25 years ago from Pennsylvania. He was a professor of electrical engineering at Penn State and USF and was a Master Bridge Player and loved golf. Survivors include his loving wife of 53 years, Sandy Lachs, son; Gregory Lachs, daughter; Melanie Lachs and cherished grandchildren; Jonah and Nathaniel Lachs. A memorial service will be held Friday, February 11, 2011 at 2:00PM in the chapel of Segal Funeral Home, 3909 Henderson Blvd. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions should be made to the USF Health Byrd Alzheimer's Institute, c/o Holly Lisle, Director of Development, 4001 East Fletcher Avenue, Tampa, FL 33613.
