Gail Thomas

Gail W. Thomas, 64, of Tampa, FL, passed away on June 23, 2021 after battling lung cancer. She was born on May 6, 1957 in Gary Indiana to William and Mary Lucile Elkington while he was serving in the U.S. Navy, but relocated to South Tampa shortly thereafter, which she had always considered to be her true home town. Gail was a graduate of Robinson High School in 1975 and had worked at MacDill Air Force Base as a bowling facility manager for almost 20 years at the time of her death. Gail is survived by her husband, Kenneth Thomas, younger brothers Keith Elkington and Ladd Elkington, and sons Marshall Couvillion, William "Billy" Thomas, and Chad Thomas. She was preceded in death by her father William Elkington, and mother, Mary Lucile Elkington. A Celebration of Life will be held on July 25, 2021 from 1:00-4:00 PM at Hugh Gilbert Strickland American Legion Post 138 at 5535 W. Prescott Street where Gail had been an active member of the Unit 138 Auxiliary.
