NEUSNER, Frederick, age 89 of Tampa died Wednesday, February 5, 2014. Mr. Neusner was born in Springfield, Massachusettes, resided in Hartford, CT and came to Tampa in 1998 from Washington, D.C.. Fred was an attorney and during his professional career he was in private practice, served as an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Connecticut and later was an administrative law judge with the Department of Labor in Washington, D.C. He was a member of Congregation Rodeph Sholom and Congregation Schaarai Zedek. Fred always was in pursuit of knowledge and availed himself of every opportunity for the scholarly study of Judaism and Jewish Law. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lillian Osiason Neusner. Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, David Neusner & Linda Mariani of New London, CT, daughter, JoAnn Neusner of Cambridge, MA, brother and sister-in-law, Jacob & Suzanne Neusner of Rhinebeck, NY, grandchildren, Peter Neusner, Alexander Neusner, Julia Neusner and Gabriella Neusner. Graveside services will be held today (Friday), 2:00 PM at Schaarai Zedek Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the charity of ones choice.
