Freda Brod

Brod, Freda Miriam (nee Warhaftig) 102, our matriarch, passed away peacefully at home January 27, 2019 surrounded by family and friends.  She is survived by her children, Dr. Eldra Solomon, Sherman Brod, Esq, (Sandra) and Dr. Albert Brod, and blessed with five grandchildren, Mical Solomon (Karla), Amy Solomon (Ray Thorn), Belicia Efros Frauwirth (Neal), Rocky Goodson (Michelle), Taylor Goodson (James Proctor) , fifteen great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Rabbi Theodore Brod.  Freda was born in Salisbury, MD, and grew up in Philadelphia.  She obtained her B.A. degree from the University of Pennsylvania.  She moved to Tampa in 1948.  She wrote, directed, and produced children’s plays for the Tampa Community Theater.  Freda was a devoted wife and loving mother and grandmother.  She was kind and caring and loved by everyone. Funeral services will be held today, (Monday) 2:00 PM at Segal Funeral Home, 3909 Henderson Boulevard, Tampa. Interment will follow at Myrtle Hill Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hillel Academy, 2020 W. Fletcher Ave., Tampa 33612 or the Judeo Christian Clinic, 4118 N. MacDill Avenue, Tampa 33607.
