ROSENBLATT, Frank Lykes 95, life-long resident of Tampa, died on Saturday, October 13, 2018. Mr. Rosenblatt was a South Tampa native, attending Gorrie Elementary, Wilson Middle School, Plant High, and eventually the University of Florida. He served proudly in the U.S. Army during WWII. Frank worked in his family's meat packing business and after the death of his father, he went into the cattle business, during which time he helped the Cattleman's Association pass legislation to improve the cattle industry. Frank was an active and vital part of the city of Tampa as well as Tampa's Jewish Community. His efforts were tireless and along with his wife was among the founders of the Florida Holocaust Museum and Menorah Manor where he continued to serve on the board for over 20 years and was a founding member of the Jewish Towers board where he served and ultimately assisted in negotiating the sale of the Towers which resulting in the establishment of the Bryan Glazer JCC in the south Tampa Armory. As a member of Congregation Schaarai Zedek he was past president of the Men's Club and recipient of the Israeli Bonds award in 2005. He was a 32nd Degree Mason, Shriner, and honorary member of the Davis Islands Garden Club. His community and civic endeavors will be a continued legacy for generations to come. Survivors include his beloved wife of 71 years, Doris; his children, Nancy and David Linsky, Tampa, Beverly and Leon Levinson, Houston, TX, and Robert Michael Rosenblatt, Tampa; cherished grandchildren and their spouses, Sam and Stacie Linsky, Sara and Craig Eidelman, Ron and Frankie Linsky, Andi and Jason Kristall, Katherine Rosenblatt; and nine great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held today, Monday, October 15, at 5 pm, at Congregation Schaarai Zedek, 3303 W. Swann Avenue, Tampa with a reception to follow. Interment will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Menorah Manor or to a charity of ones choice. Condolences may be expressed online at: segalfuneralhome.com.
