Frank Mendez

MENDEZ, Frank, age 80, lifelong resident of Tampa died Sunday, December 30, 2007. Mr. Mendez was a U.S. Army veteran and worked for the U.S. Postal Service as a mail carrier for 34 years. He was co-founder of the West Tampa Little League and worked as an usher for the N.Y. Yankees. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Gilda Marie Mendez. Survivors include his beloved wife of 57 years, Josephine, daughter and son-in-law, Karen & Ted Hambleton of Tampa, son, Frank Richard Mendez, granddaughter, Kristen Stephenson and sister-in-law and her husband, Rose Marie & Gene Baker. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, January 9, 2008, 1:00 PM at Segal Funeral Home, 3909 Henderson Boulevard, Tampa. Placement of the cremation urn will follow services at 2:30 PM at the Garden of Memories Mausoleum. The family wishes to thank the family and friends for their love and support during Frank's extended illness. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the charity of ones choice.
