BECK, Eugene Jay, age 90 of Tampa died Monday, April 7, 2025. Mr. Beck was born in New York and came to Tampa in 1980 from Miami where he had resided since the age of 13. He proudly served in the National Guard and worked as a court bailiff. Although he never had a family of his own, he lived entirely for his birth family. Survived by his devoted sister and brother-in-law, Cookie and Booky Buchman, cherished nieces and nephews, Julie (Keith), Steven (Kris), Eric (Melissa), great nieces and nephews, Amy E., Riley, Zach, Zoe, Emily and Maddie. He was preceded in death by his beloved niece and great niece, Amy Gail and Alexis Kristine of blessed memory.
He will be remembered as a man whose life was defined by love, loyalty, and devotion.
He was a lover of politics, a devoted TV watcher, and never shy about sharing his thoughts—often at great length. In fact, many of us remember his long-winded stories and passionate opinions.
But that was him—full of heart and full of words. His voice, kind words and his unwavering devotion will echo in the memories of those who knew him and loved him forever.
Graveside services will be held Friday, 2:00 PM at Myrtle Hill Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to The Amy Gail Buchman Preschool Endowment Fund, 3303 West Swann Avenue, Tampa, FL 33609 or to www.bucstrong.org in memory of Alexis Kristine.
