Edgardo Alverio

–

Tampa, FL

If you were lucky enough to know Eddie Alverio, chances are he made you smile. Eddie had a way of making friends wherever he went and leaving people a little happier than he found them. He passed away on July 20, 2026, at the age of 78, leaving behind a lifetime of memories that his family and friends will cherish forever.

Eddie's greatest joy was his family. He was a devoted husband to Debbie, whom he adored and married on October 16, 2004. Together they built a life filled with love, laughter, family gatherings, and countless memories. He was also forever grateful for his late first wife, Carmen, with whom he shared his beloved children. He was a proud father to Richie and Denise as well as stepdaughter Kristyn, daughter-in-law, Susan, and son-in-law, Stefano. He adored being Wuelo to his grandchildren—Madi, Emmi, Tyler, Marco and Alex—and treasured every opportunity to spend time with them.

For more than 50 years, Eddie owned and operated a successful dry-cleaning business. He took great pride in his work, but even more pride in the people around him. He genuinely cared about his employees and community relationships. Many stayed in touch with him long after they had worked together, a reflection of the lasting relationships he built through kindness, generosity, and respect.

After retiring you could find him at the beach with Debbie, playing LCR with the grandkids, or at one of many odd jobs including the unofficial mayor of Ravinia– And always in a fedora. Whether it was sharing a meal with family, having cocktails with neighbors, going on trips with friends, or simply making everyone around him laugh, he was the happiest with the people he loved. His proudest moments were watching Richie and Denise become incredible parents, celebrating his grandchildren as they grew and excelled in education and athletics, cherishing Debbie’s unwavering love for his family–especially as Grammy to their 5 beautiful grandchildren–and knowing his beloved Carmen was watching over them all from above. He reminded us that life's greatest moments are often the simplest ones. His warm heart, charming demeanor, and unforgettable smile will be deeply missed, but they will continue to live on in the stories we share and the memories we cherish.

As we remember Eddie, we find comfort in the words of Jesus:
"Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give it to you. Do not let your hearts be troubled or afraid." — John 14:27
