WULIGER, E. JEFFREY, age 73, of Tampa passed peacefully Friday afternoon, June 24, 2016. Born in Cleveland, Ohio to Patricia and Ernest Wuliger, Jeffrey grew up in Cleveland and attended Tufts University in Boston. His life long career was as a stockbroker, first working in Cleveland for Merrill Lynch, then for Weden & Company, both in Houston and Dallas, TX. Moving to Tampa in l981 to be near his wife's retired parents, he was again employed with Merrill Lynch and then with Smith Barney. In the early 1990's he left Smith Barney to become a Private Financial Advisor. Jeffrey was a Past President of the Hillel School of Tampa (now Hillel Academy). At Hillel he was also a Soccer coach for several years and was the Head of the BINGO FUNDRAISER that met twice a week. He is an HONORARY MEMBER OF THE HILLEL ACADEMY BOARD OF TRUSTEES. Jeffrey was also a Past President of the Tampa Jewish Community Center. He was very instrumental in the fundraising and actions that resulted in the success of moving the small Hillel campus from south Tampa to a beautiful, larger campus on Fletcher Avenue. He was also very successful in the move of the JCC in south Tampa to a large north Tampa site which now houses many Jewish organizations today, including a North Campus JCC Preschool. Jeff served on the Board of Directors of the Tampa Preparatory School and was a large supporter in many areas during his son's high school years. He loved children and wanted no child left behind. He tutored Math and English several afternoons a week at Gorrie Elementary School in Hyde Park. He was a very hands-on person who never hesitated to roll up his sleeves and move furniture, clean or even pull weeds in a neighbor's yard. He loved helping those less fortunate than he; feeding the homeless each week and taking them clothes and blankets when needed. A supporter of " Paint Your Heart Out Tampa", a cause very dear to him, he and his son Michael would volunteer many hours. He was an honored recipient of the Israel Bond Award, the Jewish National Fund-Tree of Life Award in 2007 and 2009 at the Annual President's Dinner. He was presented the Tikkum Olam (repair the world) award for his philanthropy and leadership in support of the Jewish community's three pre-schools, summer camps, the Hillel school, Weinberg Village and much more. Preceded in death by his parents and his step-son Trey. Survivors include his beloved son, Michael, daughter-in-law Ashley, four cherished grandchildren, Charlie, Carter, Oliver and Eleanor.
