ADLER, Dr. Philip, 92 of Tampa passed away on November 2, 2019. Dr. Adler came to Tampa after his medical fellowship at the Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan in 1958 and was a beloved pediatrician who served three generations of children of Tampa Bay for the next 50 plus years, He was a graduate of the University of Vermont and the Medical School of the University of Vermont and served his residency at Boston Children's Hospital. He served proudly during WWII and was active in many organizations including the Foreign Relations Committee, Congregation Schaarai Zedek and was co-founder of Tampa Preparatory School.  Dr. Adler is survived by his former wife and the mother of his children, Aliza Adler; his son Joshua (Pamela) Adler, his daughters Tamara (John) Lundgren and Rachel (John) Simpson, his son Asa’s widow Renee Adler, and his grandchildren Audrey Adler, Brice Adler and Colin Adler. A memorial service will be held Sunday, November 10th, 2:30 PM at Congregation Schaarai Zedek, 3303 West Swann Avenue, Tampa. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Philip Adler’s name to the St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital Foundation, 2700 W. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. Suite 310 Tampa, FL 33607, to support the pediatric care that was the hallmark of this extraordinary man’s life for over half a century.
