SZENTIVANYI, Dr. Judith (Szasz), age 90, of Lutz, passed away Saturday, March 9, 2019. Born in Miskolc, Hungary on April 4, 1928, Judith was a Holocaust survivor and immigrated to the USA after the Hungarian Revolution. In 1952 she finished medical school and specialized in internal medicine in 1956. She went on to finish her residency in dermatology at the University of Colorado and continued to practice dermatology in Aurora, Colorado, Council Bluffs, Iowa, and Tampa, Florida. In Tampa, she was an associate professor of comprehensive medicine at the University of South Florida and in Colorado, she was a clinical assistant professor at the University of Colorado and Creighton University. Over the course of her career, Judith gained membership to several associations including the American Medical Association, the Hungarian Medical Association and the American Academy of Dermatology. She was also a member of several local organizations such as Congregation Kol Ami, in Tampa, the Holocaust Museum, in St. Petersburg, Lutz/Land O' Lakes Women's club and the Brandeis National Committee, in Tampa. Judith is survived by her two beloved sons, Peter Szentivanyi and Edward William. Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 12, 2019, at Gan Shalom Cemetery, in Lutz.
