COHEN, Dorothy, 95, of Tampa passed away peacefully on Tues., April 28th. Daughter of the late Nat and Ida Lehrer, she was born on Rivington Street in New York City in 1919, and moved to St. Petersburg, Florida in 1958. As an active participant in human and social services, she served as Board Member of Jewish Family Services, Holocaust Museum, Gulf Coast Family Services, Life Member of Haddasah, A Lion of Judah for 14 years with Tampa Federation, founding member of Menorah Manor in St. Petersburg, Bonds for Israel, member of B'nai Israel, and a member of Rodeph Sholom in Tampa since 1990. Recognition for Civic service came from United Way, American Cancer-Lung Assoc., Aids Coalition, and Hospice. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her beloved husband, Irving Cohen; daughter, Iris Dworkin; her sister, Evelyn Budd; and her dear friends, Anne Warren and Rabbi David Susskind. She leaves to cherish her memory, her loving children, Gary Cohen and partner Patricia and Andrew (April) Cohen. Her cherished grandchildren, Rande (Steve) Weissman, Kelli Roth, Harry Cohen, Frank (Julie) Cohen, Haley Rose Cohen, Adam Harry Cohen, Alexander Irving Cohen, and Kila Holliday; cherished great grandchildren, Jenny Weissman, Emily Weissman, Julia Roth, Sophie Cohen, Charlie Cohen, Lucy Cohen, Loriann and Thomas. Funeral services and internment will be at 1:00pm at Lakeside Memorial in Miami. Shiva services will be in Tampa Saturday night at 9:00pm, Sunday through Tuesday night at 7:30pm at the home of Andrew and April Cohen, 1501 S. Albany Ave., Tampa, FL 33606. Please omit flowers. Family respectfully requests memorials made to Rodeph Sholom, 2713 Bayshore Blvd., Tampa, FL 33629 to benefit the Irving Cohen Center. Family will receive visitors after 1:00pm daily.
