Dolores Noriega Vaglica passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on March 17, 2025, in Tampa, Florida. She was born on July 2, 1948, in Ybor City, Fl and remained deeply connected to her hometown throughout her life.
A proud alumna of Jefferson High School and the University of South Florida, Dolores dedicated her life to education. She spent 38 years teaching in the Hillsborough County School System before retiring in 2007, leaving a lasting impact on her students and colleagues.
While teaching at Witter Elementary, she met the love of her life, Salvador Vaglica. They married on November 18, 1978 and were married for 46 wonderful years.
Dolores will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. She found her greatest joy in spending time with her grandsons, going on family vacations, and doting on her beloved dachshund, Toby. Her contagious laugh, paired with her sharp wit, brought warmth and laughter to those around her.
She is survived by her husband, Salvador; daughters, Lauren Agard and Aimee Vaglica; grandsons, Garrett Agard and Jordan Agard; son-in-law, Jason Agard; sister, Melecia Noriega, sister-in-law Sue Ann Vaglica and several nieces and nephews.
Dolores’s memory will be treasured by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy of love, dedication, knowledge, and wit will continue to inspire those whose lives she touched. We love you Honey, Mom and Wow.
A Celebration of Life will be held on May 4th at 2:00 PM at the Original Carrollwood Recreation Center. Family and friends are invited to gather and honor Dolores’s memory.
