David Benchimol

David Andre Benchimol, age 83 of St. Petersburg, died March 19, 2012. David was born February 28, 1929 in Casablanca, Morocco to Abraham and Zary Benchimol. He immigrated to the U.S. in 1955, first settling in Mulberry, Fla. He owned Modern Business Machines in Tampa for over 30 years. He was a former member of the former Beth Israel and Temple David Congregations. David is survived by his four children, Dr. George Benchimol of Gainesville, FL, Jean Benchimol of Pawtucket, RI, Richard Benchimol, Esq. of St. Petersburg, FL and Joyce Benchimol of Gainesville, FL. Survivors also include his three grandchildren, Jason Benchimol of Gainesville, Matthew Benchimol of Gainesville and Kaitlin Benchimol of San Francisco, CA, his brother, Jacques Benchimol of Paris, France, and his three sisters, Simone Harmon of Daytona, FL, Gigi Buckner of Trinity, FL and Annette Bohannon of Tampa, FL. David was a loving father, grandfather and brother and will be deeply missed by all of his family. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Menorah Manor Foundation, 255 59th Street North, St. Petersburg, FL 33710. A graveside service will be held Thursday, March 22, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Beth Israel Cemetery, Tampa.
