Christine McMillan

Christine Boyd Young McMillan, 80, of Asheville, NC passed away on Tuesday, January 17, 2017.
Chris enjoyed writing, gardening and traveling. Grew-up in Savannah, married in Paris, France, she traveled the world as the spouse of an Air Force pilot. She continued her love of traveling after operating a successful retail business in Tallahassee and Quincy, FL. Relocating to her beloved Asheville, at 74, she published her first book "Backward Off The Curb".
She will be remembered for her generosity toward local charity organizations including Pisgah Legal Service, Children First CIS of Buncombe County, YWCA and Hospice.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles McMillan. Survived by son Greg McMillan, his spouse Kelly of Tampa, FL, grandchildren Elizabeth (Asa) Holleman of Fairfax, VA and Charles of Winter Park, FL in addition to great-granddaughter Madison.
The Servanthood House community, 156 E Chestnut Street, Asheville, NC. 28801, will host a memorial gathering on Monday, January 30th between 5:30 and 7 pm. A brief service will be conducted at 6:00. Parking will be available at St. Mark's Lutheran Church.
